Steve Lowenthal is the founder and lead consultant at EDUCATE. Steve began his career in learning solutions at Cognitive Arts, where he spent more than seven years working with Roger Schank and a team of PhDs to develop and implement goal-based scenarios and other innovative approaches to learning design. This experience established a strong foundation in experiential learning and the application of learning theory to real-world performance.

 

He went on to help build and lead a learning solutions company, managing cross-functional teams of instructional designers, graphic artists, technologists, and other specialists while overseeing an annual portfolio of more than $7 million in learning and technology development.

More recently, Steve has worked with organizations to implement skills frameworks that inform job profiles, competency models, and people development strategies. He has also helped organizations apply AI-powered roleplay and coaching to create authentic opportunities for employees to practice and develop skills in realistic situations.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois and has completed master's-level coursework in Learning and Organizational Change at Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy.
